Sushi was delicious & fresh; simple menu: sushi, simple rolls, special rolls, salads, dinner meal came w/miso soup and salad w/yummy tangy dressing. Customer service was excellent, clean, can dine-inside or outside. Parking easy and plenty. Offer catering of multiple party size sushi platters; Biggest PLUS- prices are extremely reasonably lower than other sushi restaurants. Definitely returning to Sakai Sushi
Definitely a hidden gem in OC. You should not expect a Omakase level but this is great for its price. A lot of place these days are too expensive and some places are not even fresh. But this place is perfect for togo sushi and they use fresh fish for sure. I love their Uni, super fresh and very sweet.
The food is so delicious. This whole plate is consumed by 5 adults and 3 children. My mom made a bowl of steam broccoli. We had a wonderful dinner.
I had one of their Sushi bento dishes during my lunch. I'd say there's a pretty good variety for one person. Sushi is great. The service was friendly and prompt. Although the ventilation here is a bit poor and it was a little hot in the summer time.
So tiny that you might miss it this hidden gem and a strip mall houses some of the freshest sushi. The restaurant itself is quite tiny with 4 to 5 tables and has an intimate feel. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. They have a self-serve water machine and they offer complementary green tea packets that you can add to hot water. We ordered several rolls but also nigiri which was served in such a visually appealing way. I was impressed by how fresh the yellowtail was and the superb quality of everything we ate. Would definitely come back!
The service was quick and simple, the sushi was fresh, abundant, and very delicious. Definitely try it out if you are in the area.
Late post - I wanted to cater sushi for Father's Day. The morning of Father's Day, I placed an order of the 50 piece sushi and Sakai Sushi was able to accept the order and prepare it within an hour. The sushi was good. I recommend this place :)
There's no better way to express our love for Sakai than to say that we've ordered catering from them TWICE for two of our biggest family celebrations since our wedding. That's how GOOD their service and their food is. They provide TRUE high quality food for A TRULY decent price.
